Where to Eat
Eastern North Carolina BBQ
Shaw’s Barbecue
Shaw’s has been right here in Williamston for many years. It offers great food, and is good on the pocket book. They have other home-cooked southern fare also. Website
Boss Hog’s Backyard BBQ
They serve barbecue – lots of food- and many other things, extensive buffet. Guests rave about the food – try the ribs. Google maps
Hardison’s Carolina Barbecue
Jamesville – 12 miles from Big Mill B&B. Great southern food, really good barbecue and easy on the pocket book. My nephew Monk knows the menu by heart and he says to not miss the ribs Wednesday at lunchtime, but be there at least by 11:30. Google maps
If you want to sample more of the eastern North Carolina style barbecue, you can drive to nearby towns and give it a try.
Bunn’s BBQ
Windsor – Great Carolina barbecue served up in an old service station. Be sure to try the Barbecue sandwich that is served between two pieces of cornbread. Chloe’s blog
Starlight Inn
Ayden – Great barbecue is served up in Ayden, 26 miles from Big Mill B&B. The pulled pork sandwich is especially good. Chloe’s blog
B’s Barbecue
